Passivates & Sealers for Zinc, Zinc-Nickel & Aluminum
Trivalent passivates, chromate conversion coatings, aluminum treatments, and post-dip sealers engineered to improve corrosion resistance, finish appearance, and salt spray performance.
Passivation chemistry for plated surfaces that need to perform and look right.
Passivates are a proven method for improving the corrosion resistance of zinc and zinc-nickel plated surfaces, as well as long-term protection for aluminum.
Ronatec’s Ronacoat product line includes blue-bright trivalent passivates, yellow and iridescent finishes, black passivates, aluminum conversion coatings, and sealers designed to extend performance after plating.
These chemistries help finishers improve salt spray performance, surface appearance, post-dip protection, gloss, hardness, scratch resistance, and process consistency.

Conversion coatings and sealers designed to extend plated part performance.
Corrosion Resistance
Improve resistance to white corrosion on zinc and zinc-nickel plated surfaces.
Salt Spray Performance
Support higher neutral salt spray performance with the right passivate and sealer combination.
Finish Appearance
Produce clear, blue-bright, yellow, iridescent, black, and other functional decorative finishes.
Trivalent Options
Modern trivalent passivates designed for zinc and zinc alloy plating deposits.
Post-Dip Protection
Sealers can improve corrosion resistance, gloss, hardness, and scratch resistance.
Production Flexibility
Products for acid, alkaline, cyanide, zinc alloy, aluminum, rack, and barrel applications.
High-corrosion passivates and sealers for demanding finishing requirements.
Ronacoat passivates are designed to improve traditional chromate coating performance by extending salt spray results, simplifying use, and supporting post-dip protection.
Ronacoat SM-250
SM-250 is a single-additive, easy-to-use, thick-film trivalent conversion coating for zinc plated surfaces. It produces a slightly iridescent finish and is designed to exceed 250 hours of neutral salt spray to white corrosion without topcoats.
Passivates, chromates, conversion coatings, and sealers for plated components.
Ronacoat Blue-Bright Passivates
Blue 120 and Blue 175 are concentrated single-component trivalent passivates for zinc and zinc alloy plating deposits from acid, alkaline, and cyanide electrolytes.
Ronacoat Yellow
Z-26 produces iridescent yellow, golden bronze, or leach-clear chromate conversion coatings. Yellow Z-25 can be used with Blue 175 or other trivalent passivates to produce a bright yellow/gold finish.
Ronacoat Black
Black C and Black 150 support deep black chromate/passivate finishes with corrosion protection for zinc and zinc alloy plated surfaces.
Aluminum Conversion Coatings
Ronacoat 2-41 produces corrosion-resistant chromate conversion coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys and can be applied by brush, spray, or immersion.
Seal ZCS
A concentrated liquid sealer designed for use over clear or yellow trivalent passivates to improve salt spray protection.
Seal100 & Seal 350
Organic and specialty sealers designed to extend corrosion resistance, improve gloss, hardness, and scratch resistance.
Color, corrosion protection, and post-plate performance.
Ronacoat passivates support the finish appearance and corrosion resistance requirements of production zinc and zinc-nickel plating operations.
Whether the target is clear/blue-bright, yellow iridescent, black, or sealed corrosion protection, Ronatec helps finishers evaluate the chemistry and post-dip process needed for consistent production results.

Supporting functional and decorative corrosion protection across plated components.
Ronacoat products are used where plated components require corrosion resistance, finish consistency, appearance control, and post-dip performance.
Passivate and sealer questions.
What is a zinc passivate?
A zinc passivate is a conversion coating applied after zinc or zinc-alloy plating to improve corrosion resistance and provide a desired finish appearance.
What is the difference between clear, yellow, and black passivates?
Different passivates produce different finish appearances and performance profiles. Ronacoat products support blue-bright, yellow/iridescent, black, and sealed corrosion-resistant finishes.
Why use a sealer after passivation?
Post-dip sealers can extend corrosion resistance, improve gloss, increase scratch resistance, and help support higher salt spray performance.
Does Ronatec offer passivates for aluminum?
Yes. Ronacoat includes conversion coating products for aluminum and aluminum alloys, including products that can be applied by brush, spray, or immersion.
